Abstract

A career in entrepreneurship provides a wide range of opportunities in generating income and creating employment opportunities, especially for university students. However, careers in entrepreneurship are less commercial among students, and most students are more exposed to salaried careers than entrepreneurship. Thus, this article will discuss the tendency of Islamic studies students towards entrepreneurship. This study uses a questionnaire survey method; a total of 219 students from the Academy of Contemporary Islamic Studies (ACIS) UiTM Shah Alam were selected as respondents in this study. The questionnaire results were then analyzed using a descriptive quantitative design using IBM SPSS Statistics software to answer the study's objectives. The results showed that ACIS students had a positive impression of entrepreneurship driven by motivational factors, family, academic outcomes, subjects of study, entrepreneurial and economic skills. They have been exposed to entrepreneurship subjects and entrepreneurship training at the university level. This study also shows that the exposure of studies in entrepreneurship that students have followed can change students' inclinations towards entrepreneurship.
