Mount Jerai in Kedah, particularly the tomb of Shaykh ‘Abd Allāh al-Qumayri and the Telaga Tok Sheikh, is among the notable locations linked to this tradition. However, this practice has been contested by certain groups, who label it as shirk, heresy, or superstition, often referring to the views of figures such as Ibn Taymiyyah. This study aims to examine the legitimacy of tabarruk at Mount Jerai from the perspective of Ahli Sunnah walJama‘ah, addressing misconceptions and doctrinal disputes. Using literature searches in the relevant academic articles and classical Islamic scholarship were identified, screened, and analysed. The results reveal that tabarruk is permissible when performed within the limits of Islamic law, with the belief that only Allah grants benefit and harm. Analysis of selected works indicates broad scholarly consensus among prominent Sunni scholars supporting the practice, provided it does not involve prohibited beliefs or actions. The findings also demonstrate that the controversy stems largely from differing interpretive methodologies and theological orientations rather than explicit scriptural prohibitions. This research provides a structured synthesis of evidence, offering clarity for Muslim communities and countering unnecessary accusations of disbelief in matters of scholarly disagreement. It concludes that tabarruk at Mount Jerai aligns with Sunni orthodoxy when practiced according to proper shar‘i guidelines, thus promoting religious harmony and discouraging divisive rhetoric.<br /><br /><strong>Abstrak</strong><br /><br />Amalan tabarruk iaitu mencari keberkatan melalui objek atau tempat yang dikaitkan dengan individu soleh telah lama diamalkan oleh umat Islam, termasuk di Malaysia. Gunung Jerai di Kedah, khususnya Makam Shaykh ‘Abd Allāh al-Qumayri dan Telaga Tok Sheikh, merupakan antara lokasi terkenal yang dikaitkan dengan tradisi ini. Namun, amalan ini sering dipertikaikan oleh sesetengah pihak yang menuduhnya sebagai syirik, sesat atau khurafat, dengan merujuk pandangan tokoh seperti Ibn Taymiyyah. Kajian ini bertujuan meneliti kesahihan tabarruk di Gunung Jerai menurut perspektif Ahli Sunnah Waljamaah, bagi menjelaskan salah faham dan perbezaan pandangan dalam isu akidah. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahawa tabarruk adalah harus dilakukan selagi ia berlandaskan hukum syarak dengan keyakinan bahawa hanya Allah yang memberi manfaat dan mudarat. Analisis terhadap karya terpilih menunjukkan wujudnya konsensus yang luas dalam kalangan ulama Ahli Sunnah yang membenarkan amalan ini, asalkan ia tidak melibatkan kepercayaan atau perbuatan yang dilarang. Penemuan juga mendapati kontroversi ini berpunca daripada perbezaan metodologi pentafsiran dan orientasi teologi, bukannya larangan nas yang jelas. The purpose of the Quran's revelation will only be fully achieved if its contents are read, understood, internalized, and reflected upon, and subsequently practiced in the life of a Muslim. In the context of Malaysian society, the practice of reading and memorizing the Quran has become a habit, especially among teachers and students in the tahfiz stream. However, the question arises as to how well the memorized verses of the Quran are truly understood in meaning and deeply contemplated, thereby realizing the objectives of the Quran's revelation. Therefore, this study was conducted to understand the perception, level of knowledge, and application of Quranic contemplation among teachers of the tahfiz stream. This study combines qualitative and quantitative methods, where data collection is carried out through references to primary texts related to the contemplation of the Quran and using a questionnaire as a measurement tool. Descriptive statistical analysis, independent sample T-tests, and one-way ANOVA tests were used in the quantitative analysis of this study. The study results found that the perception and level of knowledge of the concept of tadabbur among respondents were at a very good level, while the practice of tadabbur was at a good level. The results of the independent sample T-test show a significant difference between the educational background of teachers, whether from the tahfiz stream or not, with the perception and knowledge of tahfiz teachers towards tadabbur. Meanwhile, the results of the one-way ANOVA analysis showed no significant difference between the length of service in tahfiz schools and the perception and level of knowledge of Quranic tadabbur among tahfiz teachers. However, there is a significant difference between the length of service in tahfiz schools and the practice of tadabbur. Understanding and reflecting on the verses of the Quran are very important for producing Muslim individuals who master knowledge and can practice that knowledge as desired by the Quran, thereby demonstrating the civilization of knowledgeable humanity.<br /><br /><strong>Abstrak</strong><br /><br />Al-Quran telah diturunkan kepada Rasulullah SAW sebagai sumber petunjuk yang sempurna bagi seluruh umat manusia. Tujuan penurunan al-Quran hanya akan tercapai secara menyeluruh sekiranya kandungannya dibaca, difahami, dihayati serta ditadabbur, seterusnya diamalkan dalam kehidupan seorang Muslim. Dalam konteks masyarakat Malaysia, amalan membaca dan menghafaz al-Quran telah menjadi kebiasaan, terutamanya dalam kalangan guru dan pelajar aliran tahfiz. Namun begitu, timbul persoalan sejauh manakah ayat-ayat al-Quran yang dihafaz itu benar-benar difahami maknanya serta ditadabbur dengan mendalam seterusnya merealisasikan matlamat penurunan al-Quran. Justeru, kajian ini dilakukan bagi mengetahui persepsi, tahap pengetahuan dan aplikasi tadabbur al-Quran dalam kalangan guru aliran tahfiz. Kajian ini menggabungkan kaedah kualitatif dan kuantitatif, di mana pengumpulan data dilaksanakan melalui rujukan terhadap kitab-kitab utama yang berkaitan dengan tadabbur al-Quran serta menggunakan instrumen soal selidik sebagai alat pengukuran. Analisis deskriptif statistik, Independent Sample T Test dan ujian ANOVA satu hala digunakan dalam analisis kuantitatif dalam kajian ini. Hasil kajian mendapati persepsi dan tahap pengetahuan konsep tadabbur responden berada pada tahap yang sangat baik, manakala pengamalan tadabbur berada pada tahap yang baik. Dapatan ujian Independent Sample T Test menunjukkan terdapat perbezaan yang signifikan di antara latar belakang pendidikan guru sama ada daripada aliran tahfiz atau tidak dengan persepsi dan pengetahuan guru Tahfiz terhadap tadabbur. Manakala hasil analisis ANOVA satu hala pula menunjukkan tidak ada perbezaan yang signifikan di antara tempoh perkhidmatan di sekolah tahfiz dengan persepsi, tahap pengetahuan tadabbur al-Quran dalam kalangan guru tahfiz. Namun terdapat perbezaan yang signifikan di antara tempoh perkhidmatan di sekolah tahfiz dengan pengamalan tadabbur. The increase in new dialysis centers that have been opened recently proves that kidney disease in the community is at a serious level. Various organizations and authorities provide full support for this treatment both in the form of Finance and motivation. However, there is a perception of patients who underestimate the need to carry out dialysis treatment after being advised by a medical specialist according to the treatment session as scheduled and the thin understanding of the community on the treatment from the perspective of Islamic law.Therefore, this study will examine the extent to which dialysis treatment is carried out according to the latest views of Islamic scholars in Malaysia covering three important aspects, namely legal guidance, implementation of worship and financing assistance functions throughout the treatment. Pertambahan pusat dialisis baharu yang dibuka kebelakangan ini membuktikan penyakit buah pinggang dalam kalangan masyarakat berada di tahap yang serius. Pelbagai organisasi dan pihak berautoriti memberi sokongan sepenuhnya terhadap rawatan ini sama ada dalam bentuk kewangan dan motivasi. Namun, terdapat persepsi pesakit yang memandang ringan terhadap keperluan melaksanakan rawatan dialisis selepas disarankan oleh doktor pakar perubatan mengikut sesi rawatan seperti dijadualkan dan tipis pemahaman masyarakat terhadap rawatan tersebut dari perspektif hukum syarak. Oleh itu, kajian ini akan meninjau sejauhmana rawatan dialisis dijalankan menurut pandangan terkini para sarjana Islam di Malaysia merangkumi tiga aspek penting iaitu panduan hukum, pelaksanaan ibadat dan fungsi bantuan pembiayaan sepanjang rawatan. Kaedah metodologi kualitatif diaplikasikan berdasarkan sesi temu bual dan merujuk kajian para sarjana dalam aspek dibincangkan. Previous studies have mostly focused on younger couples and short-term marriages, while research on divorce among adult Muslim couples in densely populated urban areas exposed to urbanization, such as the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur, remains limited. This study aims to identify the main causes of divorce among the Malay community and its implications for the mental health of the divorced couples and their close family members. The study uses a descriptive qualitative approach through semi-structured interviews with five participants from diverse backgrounds who reside or work in Kuala Lumpur. The findings reveal that the main causes of divorce include neglect of financial support and responsibilities, third-party interference, polygamy, substance addiction, and domestic violence. Indirectly, divorce has been found to contribute to an increase in mental health issues among the couples and their family members. It is hoped that this study will serve as a useful reference for relevant stakeholders in formulating intervention strategies to address the issue of divorce and its consequences.<br /><br /><strong>Abstrak</strong><br /><br /></p> <p>Kes penceraian pasangan dewasa Islam di Malaysia menunjukkan peningkatan setiap tahun iaitu pasangan dalam kalangan mereka yang berumur 40 tahun ke atas dan telah berkahwin melebihi 10 tahun. Kajian lepas lebih tertumpu kepada pasangan muda dan perkahwinan jangka pendek, manakala kajian mengenai perceraian dalam kalangan pasangan dewasa muslim di kawasan bandar yang padat dan terdedah kepada urbanisasi seperti Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur masih terhad. Kajian ini bertujuan untuk mengenal pasti punca utama perceraian dalam kalangan masyarakat Melayu serta implikasinya terhadap kesihatan mental pasangan suami-isteri dan ahli keluarga terdekat. Kajian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif melalui temu bual separa berstruktur bersama lima orang peserta kajian daripada pelbagai latar belakang yang menetap atau bekerja di Kuala Lumpur. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahawa punca utama penceraian termasuklah pengabaian nafkah dan tanggungjawab, pengaruh orang ketiga, poligami, ketagihan bahan terlarang dan kes keganasan rumah tangga. Perceraian ini secara tidak langsung didapati menyumbang kepada peningkatan kes penyakit mental dalam kalangan pasangan dan ahli keluarga mereka. This study presents an analysis of hadiths related to literature (poetry) in al-Syamail al-Muhammadiyyah and discusses the Prophet's view on literature, particularly poetry, based on authentic hadiths. These hadiths are found in chapter 37, namely "Bab Ma Jaa fi Sifat Kalam Rasulullah PBUH fi al-Syiir" (Chapter on What Has Been Related About the Nature of the Speech of the Messenger of Allah PBUH Regarding Poetry). There are nine authentic hadiths related to literature (poetry) based on al-Syamail al-Muhammadiyyah. This study employs a qualitative design with thematic and content analysis approaches, aiming to identify the principles and attitude of the Messenger of Allah PBUH towards poetry as stated in the hadiths. Six themes illustrate the Prophet's principles regarding literature (poetry) in this respective book. The Prophet PBUH gave parables using poetry, the Prophet PBUH praised poetry, poems that were once recited by the Prophet PBUH, the Prophet PBUH enjoyed listening to poetry recited by others, the Prophet PBUH listened to the poetry of Umayyah bin Abi Salt, and the Prophet's Poet. The findings of this study indicate that the Messenger of Allah PBUH recognized the artistic value of poetry as a medium for da'wah (propagation of Islam), education, and aesthetic expression, as long as it did not contradict the principles of Islamic creed and ethics. These findings contribute to a deeper understanding of the relationship between hadith, literature and da'wah.<br /><br />Abstrak<br /><br />Kitab al-Syamail al-Muhammadiyyah merupakan karya agung karangan Imam al-Tirmidhi yang menghimpunkan hadis-hadis berkaitan perihal diri Rasulullah SAW dari segala aspek. Kajian ini mengemukakan analisis hadis-hadis yang berkaitan dengan sastera (puisi) dalam kitab al-Syamail al-Muhammadiyyah dan membincangkan pandangan Rasulullah terhadap sastera khususnya puisi berdasarkan hadis sahih. Justeru, hadis-hadis ini terdapat dalam bab ke 37 iaitu “Bab Ma Jaa fi Sifat Kalam Rasulullah SAW fi al-Syiir”. Terdapat 9 teks hadis yang berkaitan dengan sastera (puisi) berdasarkan kitab al-Syamail al-Muhammadiyyah. 9 teks hadis tersebut adalah sahih. Although this group plays a vital role in the nation’s fisheries economy, they are frequently excluded from mainstream da'wah initiatives due to geographical isolation, socioeconomic hardship, and low levels of formal education. Adopting a qualitative approach, this study employs document analysis of scholarly journals, institutional reports, and literature pertaining to the lives of fishing communities. The findings reveal a range of challenges including drug addiction, reliance on superstitious practices, lack of religious knowledge, and ineffective support systems in existing da'wah strategies. The study highlights the need for a more contextual and inclusive approach to da'wah, grounded in a deeper understanding of the lived realities of coastal fishermen. It is hoped that the results of this study will contribute to the development of more effective and sustainable outreach policies for this often-overlooked maritime population.<br /><br /><strong>Abstrak</strong><br /><br /></p> <p>Kajian ini mengupas isu keterpinggiran komuniti nelayan pantai dalam arus dakwah Islam di Malaysia, dengan memberi tumpuan kepada kekangan sosial dan keagamaan yang menjadi penghalang utama terhadap keberkesanan penyampaian dakwah kepada mereka. Meskipun golongan ini memainkan peranan penting dalam ekonomi perikanan negara, mereka sering diabaikan daripada liputan program dakwah arus perdana disebabkan faktor geografi, sosioekonomi, dan latar belakang pendidikan yang rendah. Kajian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif melalui analisis dokumen terhadap sumber ilmiah seperti jurnal akademik, laporan institusi, serta penulisan yang berkaitan dengan kehidupan komuniti nelayan. This study explores strategies for developing adaptive information services in school libraries to enhance students' information literacy and foster independent learning skills. Employing a qualitative descriptive approach, data were collected through semi-structured interviews, participatory observation, and documentation at SMA Negeri 3 Bukittinggi. The findings indicate that students exhibit diverse information needs and preferences, favoring digital and visual formats such as infographics and videos. In response, librarians have adopted adaptive service strategies, including embedded librarianship, collaborative teaching with educators, repackaging content into accessible formats, and integrating digital tools to improve access and engagement. Additionally, personalized services such as individual consultations and information literacy training have proven effective in increasing student participation and critical thinking. However, challenges persist, including limited digital infrastructure, insufficient librarian competencies, and the absence of national guidelines for adaptive library services. Based on these findings, recommendations are proposed for stakeholders, including the integration of information literacy into the national curriculum, investment in digital infrastructure, and professional development for school librarians. Islam Nusantara as a form of contextual, moderate, and inclusive Islamic practice has become an integral part of the formation of Indonesian national identity. Arabic, as the main language in Islamic teaching sources, plays an important role in strengthening the understanding of Islam as rahmatan lil 'alamin. Arabic language learning developed within the framework of Islam Nusantara is not only oriented towards linguistic mastery, but also internalizing the values of tolerance, diversity, and national spirit. This study uses a qualitative approach with a literature study method and interviews with Arabic language teachers in traditional and modern Islamic educational institutions. The results of the study indicate that the integration of Islam Nusantara values in Arabic language learning is able to form a generation that is religious, moderate, and has a global perspective, which is an important pillar in realizing Indonesia Emas 2045. As a major trade center in Sumatra, Palembang was frequently exposed to epidemics such as cholera, smallpox, beri-beri, typhoid, and anthrax. The colonial government adopted a top-down biomedical approach through vaccination campaigns, construction of military and missionary hospitals, and limited health education. In contrast, local communities developed alternative responses rooted in traditional medicine, spiritual practices, and cultural rituals, including the use of herbal remedies, mantras, and community-based ceremonies like Rebo Kasan and Sedekah Bedusun. by analyzing colonial archives, health reports, oral traditions, and local manuscripts, this study reveals that although colonial policies dominated the formal medical discourse, they often failed to replace indigenous health practices. Instead, a complex negotiation emerged, where limited accommodations were made such as the integration of native medical personnel and selective toleration of local healing methods. The findings show that the plague functioned as a contested site of power and knowledge, reflecting broader dynamics of colonial governance and local resistance. Therefore, Bayu Raudah Education Center (PPBR) has developed a flexible and inclusive needs-based curriculum to ensure that stateless children receive relevant and effective education. In this regard, this study discusses the key elements in the curriculum suitable for stateless students at Bayu Raudah Education Center (PPBR). Additionally, the study also examines the appropriate teaching approaches used by the educators at Bayu Raudah Education Center (PPBR) for stateless students. The research methodology is qualitative, utilizing documentation, semi-structured interviews, and observations as data collection methods. For data analysis, the researcher used thematic analysis. The findings of the study indicate that the curriculum implemented by Bayu Raudah Education Center (PPBR) emphasizes basic literacy and numeracy skills, Quran and fiqh skills, and life skills. Meanwhile, the teaching approach used by the educators is modular, interactive, and practical, with a focus on utilizing community resources and technology to overcome educational resource constraints. This study explores the role of school library information services in supporting students social intergration as part of their broader information needs. Drawing on Katz’s information needs theory which highlights cognitive, emotional and social dimensions, the research examines how collaborative library environments can facilitate interpersonal interaction among junior high school students. The study employed a descriptive quantitative design, involving 60 students from SMP Negeri 35 Padang, Indonesia. Participants were selected through purposive sampling based on their active involvement in library-based group activities. Data collection included structured questionnaires (4-point Likert scale), systematic observations, and semi-structured interviews with both students and librarians. The study employed a mixed-methods design, combining descriptive quantitative analysis (questionnaires, Spearman’s rho) with qualitative data from observations and interviews. Findings reveal that 92% of students used the library to support group discussions, 68% reported enhanced peer relationships through library interaction, and 72% participated in collaborative topic- based discussions. Despite limitations in collection resources, the library continues to serve as a social learning hub, affirming that spatial and service design can significantly impact student engagement. This study emphasizes the importance of developing inclusive, socially responsive information services in school libraries, especially in resource-constrained settings. The research aims to identify the causes, meanings, and functions of these names, with particular focus on those formed during and after Indonesia’s independence struggle. Employing a qualitative historical method, the study emphasizes oral history and oral tradition as primary sources, supported by written documentation where available. Data were collected through interviews with 18 informants—including traditional leaders, religious figures, and retired local officials—selected based on their intergenerational knowledge and active roles in community narratives. The findings reveal that the place names in Kuranji reflect a wide range of thematic origins, including flora, personal figures, ethnic groups, activities, objects, and geographic features. These toponyms serve not only as spatial identifiers but also as repositories of collective identity, resistance history, and indigenous knowledge. Despite challenges such as memory bias and lack of written records, oral narratives proved essential in reconstructing local historiography. This study underscores the urgency of documenting oral traditions before they are lost to time and generational transition. The approach focuses on the highly specific, detailed, and comprehensive (traditional knowledge) information needs related to pregnant women’s understanding of the characteristics, impact, and handling of the Palasik myth—a supernatural entity believed to pose a threat to the health of newborn babies in Minangkabau culture. The study aims to analyze how pregnant women search for, evaluate, and utilize information about this myth, as well as how they assess the accuracy of the information they receive. A qualitative descriptive approach was used, with data collection techniques including in-depth interviews and participatory observation in Nagari Parik, Koto Balingka District, West Pasaman Regency. The results show that the information needs of pregnant women consist of several dimensions: cognitive needs (knowledge about the myth and baby health), affective needs (feeling safe and confident), personal integration needs (the impact of information on personal behavior), social integration needs (communication with family and community), and imaginative needs (prevention and protection from the myth). While previous discussions on rights often emphasize human and legal dimensions, this study addresses a gap in Qur’anic scholarship by examining how divine rights are articulated and classified within the sacred text. The research adopts a qualitative, thematic analysis of selected Qur’anic verses and relevant Prophetic traditions (aḥādīth) to identify and categorise the components of Ḥaqq Allāh. Primary sources include the Qur’an, classical and modern tafsīr (exegesis), and authenticated ḥadīth compilations. The analysis is divided into two main categories: (1) the rights of God in matters of belief (ʿaqīdah) and (2) the rights of God in matters of Islamic law (sharīʿah). The study finds that Ḥaqq Allāh encompasses foundational theological obligations, including monotheism, belief in messengers, divine decree, the unseen, and the afterlife. These are complemented by ritual obligations such as prayer, fasting, zakat, and pilgrimage, which serve as legal expressions of servitude to God. The findings highlight that the recognition and fulfilment of these rights form the cornerstone of Islamic faith and practice, reflecting a divine-human relationship rooted in submission, gratitude, and accountability. (al-Baqarah,30). The divine response affirmed Allah's wisdom in creating humankind according to a comprehensive methodology: "Indeed, I know that which you do not know" (al-Baqarah, 30). Consequently, fulfilling the role of human succession is intrinsically linked to fostering peace and security in all its dimensions. The Quran categorizes peace into multiple forms, including global peace, social peace, environmental peace, and inner peace. Beyond emphasizing the significance of peace, the Quran establishes a Shari'ah framework to safeguard and sustain it, ensuring that peace becomes both a doctrinal and legislative principle. Given the current global circumstances, marked by escalating conflicts and the deterioration of human peace structures, this research is of great significance as it examines the Qur’anic vision for achieving international peace and explores its methodology in addressing humanitarian crises. This study employs the descriptive-analytical method to examine Quranic texts related to peace, alongside the deductive method to derive the fundamental principles governing global peace according to the Quran. The research aims to: Analyse the concept of peace in the Qur’an and classify its types. Deduce the Quranic methodology for establishing international peace. Identify the mechanisms proposed by the Quran to enhance global security and stability.
