ChatGPT-AI Technology In Teaching Arabic For Specific Purposes From The Arabic Expert’s Perspective

Abstract

The primary use of technology in teaching and learning language in the current era has become a desired and popular method, keeping pace with the new generation. The current generation is attracted to and interacts with technological methods. We are now utilizing a new modern technology, ChatGPT. This technology utilizes the power of artificial intelligence. It has modern applications relying on artificial intelligence, working faster and more broadly. This study aims to program a model for this technology in teaching the Arabic language for specific purposes, as the ChatGPT platform is well-known and widely used by students of the current generation. Students use it to complete their duties, activities, and research as an educational means. The objective of this study is to identify the nature of the ChatGPT platform and the extent of its use in teaching the Arabic language for specific purposes among Arabic language teachers, specifically in the USIM University. The study employs a descriptive and analytical approach as well. The study describes and analyzes data obtained from primary and secondary resources like seminars, discussions, scientific articles, periodicals, etcetera. This is accomplished by surveying the opinions of specialists in the field of language teaching for specific purposes. This study has shown a great remark upon what we have discovered, the most important of which is that the ChatGPT model is a modern technology based on artificial intelligence. It can interact with users through a variety of conversations (chat), answering questions in general, both complex and ordinary. It can also analyze texts simply by obtaining a string of words or a short description of your own words. These words and expressions are transformed into texts, images, or vice versa. We have found that this application can also serve people with the function of teaching and learning the Arabic language. Especially teaching the four language skills in the literal private field. However, this study may question people of what the extent of this, in which the technological service improves language skills in the said specific area.

أصبح استخدام التكنولوجيا في تعليم اللغة وتعلمها في العصر الراهن أسلوبا وطريقة مرغوبة ومطلوبة، ومواكبة للجيل الجديد. فجيل العصر الراهن ينجذب للأساليب التكنولوجية ويتفاعل معها. ونحن الآن بصدد تكنولوجية حديثة جديدة وهي تشات جي بي تي (ChatGPT). هذه التكنولوجية تُستخدم فيها قوة الذكاء الاصطناعي. ففيها تطبيقات حديثة تعتمد على الذكاء الاصطناعي، وهي تعمل بشكل أسرع وأوسع. فجاءت هذه الدراسة لتبرمج نموذجا لهذا النوع من التكنولوجية في تعليم اللغة العربية لأغراض خاصة، ذلك لأن منصة تشات جي بي تي (ChatGPT) معروفة ومتداولة عند طلبة الجيل الراهن، فهم يستخدمونها في إنجاز واجباتهم وأنشطتهم وأبحاثهم كوسيلة من الوسائل التعليمية. فهدف هذه الدراسة هو التعرف إلى ماهية منصة تشات جي بي تي (ChatGPT) ومدى استخدامه في تعليم اللغة العربية لأغراض خاصة لدى مدرسي اللغة العربية في جامعة يوسيم بينما المنهج الذي تتخذه الدراسة هو المنهج الوصفي التحليلي. فتقوم الدراسة بتوصيف البيانات وتحليلها التي تم الحصول عليها من المصادر الرئيسة والمصادر الثانوية من الندوات والنقاشات والمقالات العلمية والدوريات وغيرها، ويتم ذلك عن طريق استقصاء آراء المتخصصين في مجال تعليم اللغة لأغراض خاصة. وقد توصلت الدراسة إلى نتائج، نجد أهمها هو أن نموذج تشات جي بي تي (ChatGPT) تقنية حديثة تعتمد على الذكاء الاصطناعي، قادر على التفاعل مع المستخدمين من خلال المحادثة (دردشة)، وذلك عن طريق الإجابة عن الأسئلة بشكل عام، المعقدة والعادية. كما أنه قادر على تحليل النصوص ببساطة من خلال الحصول على سلسلة من الكلمات، أو وصف قصير لشيء ما. فتتحول تلك الكلمات والتعابير إلى نصوص أو إلى صور أو العكس. ووجدنا أن هذا التطبيق يقوم بوظيفة تعليم اللغة العربية وتعلمها، لا سيما تعليم المهارات اللغوية الأربع في المجال الخاص، ولكن إلى أي مدى تصل هذه الخدمة التكنولوجية في تحسين المهارات اللغوية في المجال الخاص.
