The sedentary lifestyle has become a habit in this century. This happens due to the advancement and availability of digital conveniences. This phenomenon affects various aspects of life, including religious, physical, mental, and financial well-being, as well as progeny. Its implications are clearly seen in health aspects such as obesity, heart disease, and depression, but it also disrupts worship activities, work productivity, and economic stability. Therefore, the objective of this research is to investigate how a sedentary lifestyle affects the well-being of maqasid shariah in today's society. This study uses a qualitative methodology by analyzing documents from authentic sources of information. The findings of the study indicate that a sedentary lifestyle impacts the five main aspects of maqasid syariah, namely the preservation of religion, life, intellect, property, and lineage. Productive measures by religious institutions can be implemented to curb sedentary practices in alignment with the primary preservation of maqasid syariah. This article is anticipated to offer a thorough overview of the consequences of living a sedentary lifestyle, and guidance on developing suitable solutions to increase public understanding of the repercussions of this habit.
