Abstract

Aquaponics is an aquaculture system that is increasingly recognized today. It is an agricultural technology that integrates the livestock of aquatic animals and vegetable crops by using water as a crop medium. However, the effectiveness of this system on the cleanliness of each livestock and harvested crop is less discussed. Therefore, this paper aims to discuss the technology of the aquaponics system and view the cleanliness and quality of the products produced, mainly from Islamic perspectives. The study method used is a qualitative study based on the method of document analysis from a collection of journals, scientific articles, theses and papers related to the field of study. The preliminary findings of this study found that several aspects of toiyyibah benefit the aquaponics system in terms of hygiene, safety, health and saving. It is hoped that this study will have an impact on the increased use of this system in large-scale production and commercial purposes.

Abstrak
Akuaponik merupakan satu sistem akuakultur yang semakin dikenali pada masa kini. Ianya merupakan satu teknologi pertanian yang menggabungkan ternakan haiwan akuatik dan tanaman sayuran dengan menggunakan air sebagai media tanaman. Walaubagaimanapun, keberkesanan sistem ini terhadap kebersihan setiap ternakan dan tanaman yang dituai amatlah kurang dibincangkan. Oleh yang demikian, kertas kerja ini bertujuan untuk membincangkan berkenaan teknologi sistem akuaponik seterusnya melihat kebersihan dan kualiti produk yang dihasilkan terutamanya dari perspekif islam. Kaedah kajian yang digunakan adalah kajian kualitatif berasaskan kaedah analisis dokumen dari koleksi jurnal, artikel ilmiah, tesis dan makalah yang berkaitan bidang kajian. Dapatan awal kajian mendapati beberapa aspek toiyyibah memberi kebaikan kepada sistem akuaponik dari aspek kebersihan, keselamatan, kesihatan dan penjimatan. Kajian ini diharap dapat memberi impak kepada peningkatan penggunaan sistem ini dalam pengeluaran berskala besar dan bertujuan komersial.
